Marshfield, Wisconsin

The City of Marshfield is beginning a process to prepare an updated Zoning Code and Map. The purposes of this project are to modernize zoning regulations, streamline zoning processes, encourage reinvestment and sustainability, and implement the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Master Plan. The process to complete the Zoning Code and Map will take about 16 months, finishing by the end of 2012. Public input is encouraged throughout, so that the Zoning Code reflects community wishes. This web site is one opportunity for two-way communication on the progress and contents for the Zoning Code.

The City of Marshfield hosted a public workshop on August 18, 2011 to inform residents and landowners about the City’s process to update the zoning ordinance and zoning map and to gather public feedback on the strengths, weaknesses, and issues of the City’s existing zoning ordinance. Workshop participants were asked to complete a questionnaire demonstrating their level of support for certain policy topics. The purpose of the questionnaire is to help guide consultants and City officials on which zoning policy options should be explored in greater detail.

You can provide input by viewing the Issues Identification Presentation and completing the Key Issues Worksheet. Drop off your completed worksheet at the Planning and Development Department at City Hall, email it, or mail it to Jessica Schmiedicke at 120 E. Lakeside St., Madison WI 53715 by September 30th.
