City of Racine announces agreement for sale of Harborside property for destination redevelopment

Racine Mayor Cory Mason announced an agreement to sell the city-owned former Walker Manufacturing Co. plant property, now called Harborside. The land has been cleared and prepared for a hoped-for redevelopment. Milwaukee developer Kevin Newell’s Royal Capital Group will partner with the city on a residential and recreation redevelopment project under Racine's RootWorks long-range plan. That plan was developed with the City by Vandewalle & Associates.

Racine advances 6th St. Gospel Lighthouse renovation for new riverfront housing

If you cross the Sixth Street bridge these days between Racine Street and South Memorial Drive, you can see that a galvanized metal shell has been partially torn off a three-story brick building next to the bridge. It’s the start of a multibuilding apartment development called Edge of the River that is to span both sides of the Sixth Street Bridge and part of the area planned by Vandewalle & Associates.
