If you cross the Sixth Street bridge these days between Racine Street and South Memorial Drive, you can see that a galvanized metal shell has been partially torn off a three-story brick building next to the bridge. It’s the start of a multibuilding apartment development called Edge of the River that is to span both sides of the Sixth Street Bridge and part of the area planned by Vandewalle & Associates.

An $18 million, 77-unit workforce housing complex is set to come to the Uptown area. “We just don’t build buildings like this anymore," said Racine Mayor Cory Mason. ‘Village feel’ suggested for Alliant Energy Center redevelopment

Chicago firm Hunden Strategic Partners is suggesting the Alliant Energy Center campus be redeveloped to create a “village feel,” while renovating and expanding existing structures including the Dane County Coliseum. The redevelopment would have a price tag of more than $240 million.
