On October 15th Perkins + Will, the consultant team leading the Alliant Energy Center Campus master planning process, presented the draft Alliant Energy Center Campus Master Plan. Janesville officially reopens River Street as its new “festival street”

Janesville celebrates the official opening of River Street, its new "festival street.“ "This is kind of celebrating the west-side town square completion,” city management information specialist Molly Nolte said. “The ribbon-cutting for the pavilion and water feature was privately funded with Forward Janesville and ARISEnow. This is much more about what the city has been able to accomplish with the west-side town square.”

City of Racine announces agreement for sale of Harborside property for destination redevelopment

Racine Mayor Cory Mason announced an agreement to sell the city-owned former Walker Manufacturing Co. plant property, now called Harborside. The land has been cleared and prepared for a hoped-for redevelopment. Milwaukee developer Kevin Newell’s Royal Capital Group will partner with the city on a residential and recreation redevelopment project under Racine's RootWorks long-range plan. That plan was developed with the City by Vandewalle & Associates.

Ribbon cuttings in Janesville Town Square; new water feature needs a name

Part of the ARISE downtown renewal plan developed with the help of Vandewalle & Associates, elements of Janesville's new river-centric Town Square and downtown redevelopment are officially open to the public. On September 12 a ribbon cutting took place for the J.P. Cullen Memorial Pavilion, a low, concrete, roofed stage. A second ribbon-cutting honored the donors who made the new Interactive Water Feature or "IWF" possible. Oct. 26 is the target date for the next ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating the re-opening of the revamped River Street.
