Flood Planning and Strategies for Resilient Communities

Vandewalle & Associates is working actively to help the Midwest’s communities and regions recover from flooding and other natural events and plan for greater resiliency in the future. As natural events and regional and global patterns change and reach into the Midwest, we seek out new ideas, techniques, and technologies that will set communities up to better plan, adapt, and thrive. From stormwater management, recovery plans and relocation strategies, rebuilding, local and regional floodplain and watershed analysis, GIS mapping, exploration of future scenarios, funding strategies…these next-generation tools and strategies are taking many forms. We continue to research and partner with other experts and communities to develop, shape, and apply more of them.
