Justin Yonker is an associate urban designer who provides a range of services including site analysis, neighborhood design, site design, planting design, hand illustration, and computer illustration. Justin also brings experience in CAD drafting, GIS mapping, and public participation to the Vandewalle & Associates team. Justin regularly creates site detail plans, growth visioning graphics, and concept plans from the regional to the site scale. In addition to his design assistance, Justin conducts opportunity analyses for growing communities and marketing analyses for potential property development.
Justin works on a variety of project teams at Vandewalle & Associates. A few examples of projects that Justin is currently providing design assistance for include the DeKalb Corridor Redevelopment, the Cudahy Master Plan Update, the Sun Prairie Master Plan Update, and the Veridian neighborhood design team. Past project involvement includes the design of Tripp Lake Park in Whitewater and site design graphics for Cudahy, East Moline, and the West Side of Madison. Justin’s planning assistance includes work on the McFarland Growth Alternatives, the Watertown Redevelopment, and comprehensive planning in Darlington, Wisconsin.
Prior to his employment at Vandewalle & Associates, Justin completed degrees in both Landscape Architecture Design and Natural Resources. One significant project that he organized focused on the comprehensive planning needs of a small Native American community in Northern Wisconsin. The experience required Justin to immerse himself into a foreign culture in order to effectively help the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa plan their future and preserve a their rich cultural resources. His work with the community contributed towards a planned neighborhood design that is currently under construction.
