Elona Kiefer recently joined the Vandewalle & Associates design team. Elona carries with her a palette of skills including site analysis, site planning, and neighborhood design through the use of computer graphic manipulation, GIS analysis, CAD design, and hand illustration. In addition, Elona is working alongside principle designers to become familiar with the environmental, human, and market dynamics that form a sustainable neighborhood.
In her time at Vandewalle & Associates, Elona has contributed to a diverse group of projects, with a focus on neighborhood design support for Veridian Inc. Other work includes assisting the Bay Creek Neighborhood Association in developing a community way finding system, photographic support for the communication team, and the communication of regional analyses for our client communities.
Before joining the Vandewalle & Associates team full time, Elona completed the B.S. program for Design in Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Elona completed a complex project for and currently consults with the community of Sauk Prairie, where she explored the opportunity for a riverfront recreational trail connecting the community. Elona conducted extensive analysis on the community’s historic development pattern, system of existing open spaces, and opportunities for regional trail connectivity. Elona’s academic training is grounded with internship experience in planting design and landscape installation.
