Chris Landerud is an associate urban designer for Vandewalle & Associates who specializes in neighborhood design and planning projects. Through complete regional analysis, site studies, and design development, Chris takes pride in creating communities that responsibly develop or redevelop land and provide a sense of place to live, work, and recreate. From beginning analysis through implementation, Chris is involved with projects to ensure the original vision is carried out.

Chris works on a diversity of projects including redevelopment sites, mixed use centers, traditional neighborhoods, and community planning projects. Chris’ knowledge and passion for both architecture and nature allow him to feature these amenities within the urban fabric of our communities. Chris’ work representing both municipalities and developers allow him to balance the ideals of a community while responding to the realities of construction, market conditions, and cost. His proficiency with hand-drawings, computer renderings, CAD plans, digital graphics, and photography allow him to effectively communicate and educate people on the numerous complex aspects of a project. He is currently involved in the implementation and the design development of several projects mostly in southern Wisconsin.

Projects Chris is involved with include: Smith’s Crossing, Grandview Commons, Blackhawk Church Town Center, Fitchburg Tech Campus, Cardinal Glenn, Linden Park, Hidden Oaks, Whitewater South Neighborhood Plan, Edgerton Gateway Plan, and Sun Prairie Business Park.
