Brandy Howe is an Assistant Planner with the Growth Management Team, providing growth management and comprehensive planning services to communities throughout the Midwest. Her main service areas include research, writing, and project coordination on comprehensive plans; coordinating public participation efforts such as community workshops; and assisting on implementation activities such as zoning ordinances and development review.

Brandy’s broad interests include urban infill and brownfields redevelopment, neighborhood revitalization, and environmental management issues such as alternative energy, the local foods movement, and natural lands preservation. Prior to joining Vandewalle & Associates, Brandy worked on a downtown revitalization concept plan for the City of Moline, IL. She also coordinated many neighborhood services while with the City of Iowa City including serving as a steering committee member for an annual environmental program.

While at Vandewalle & Associates, she has worked on numerous projects, including urban service area amendments and TIF planning. Brandy is currenly researching and drafting comprehensive plan documents for the Villages of Dorien and Fontana, and the City of Horicon.
