Watertown secures DNR grant, advances parks plan

WATERTOWN, Wisc. – The City of Watertown was recently awarded a DNR grant which could help fund a new park downtown. The former Marathon gas station site at 905 E. Main St, could be on the way to becoming a proposed new park following environmental assessments funded by the DNR grant. Watertown City staff and Vandewalle & Associates, a Madison/Milwaukee planning group with expertise in redevelopment and real estate, identified the site’s potential for park use in an update of the City’s Parks and Open Space Plan which was adopted Oct. 14, 2019.
