Iowa Governor notes TechWorks and Waterloo as innovation leaders

In his 2017 Condition of the State Address Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad noted Waterloo and TechWorks as leaders for manufacturing innovation. “The ability of Iowans to overcome challenges bolsters my optimism for our state’s future,” said Governor Branstad. “Waterloo, Ia., after experiencing economic challenges throughout the previous three decades embraced the challenge of reshaping its industrial heritage to succeed in modern times. Cedar Valley Tech Works has made Waterloo a nationally recognized leader for manufacturing innovation. And John Deere continues to be a leading manufacturer and innovator in Waterloo.” In his address the Governor also mentioned Bloomfield and Woodbine as other examples of Iowan communities rising to new challenges.
